About Engaging Diversity
The Engaging Diversity project investigated how new technology could enable large organisations in Wales to build understanding of diversity and create working environments that respect individual's differences. The project is part ESF EQUAL funded and runs from 2004 - 2007 and takes place in 3 main phases:-
Action 1
During the first phase, a unique development partnership for the project was forged between project leaders, BTC Group, local councils, an NHS trust, NGOs charities and advisory bodies in Wales.
Action 2
During the second phase eLearning and training specialists, the BTC Group worked in close collaboration with the partners to develop a compelling diversity eLearning programme with modules covering the subjects of Race, Disability, Gender, Age, Welsh Language, Sexual Orientation and Religion & Belief. The modules were trialled by over 4,000 workers from partner organisations and University of Wales, Bangor independently evaluated the impact of the learning.
Action 3
The final phase of the project focuses on sharing the conclusions and best practice findings of the project with the wider community of policy makers, training & HR professionals and diversity practitioners in Wales and beyond. Our two dedicated conferences will be the main dissemination stream for the project and are open to everyone.
